Jojoba is a desert shrub which produces seeds containing oil. The extract from these seeds is very similar to human skin oil, or sebum, is non-comedogenic, and may balance oil production. It is easily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft, silky and moisturized. It also has the benefit of protecting the skin with a natural sun protection factor of 4 and restoring the skin’s natural PH balance. It is often used as a moisturizer for skin which has been dried out by harsh chemical treatments like those for severe acne.
